Costa Rica vs. USA preview: USMNT ready to bounce back in World Cup 2018 qualification The final round of World Cup Qualifying got off to a disastrous start for the USMNT on Friday night. Not only did they lose to arch-rival Mexico but they did so in Columbus home of the famous Dos a Cero scoreline. As if that werent enough the US now has to travel to a place where theyve never won and take on a team they have struggled with over the years: Costa Rica. The only bright spots on Friday night were Bobby Wood and Christian Pulisic. Other than that its all doom and gloom. Tim Howard injured his groin on a goal kick and will be out for months. The midfield play was appallingly bad partly because of the tactics used by Jurgen Klinsmann and partly because Michael Bradley is still a vastly overrated player who has yet to figure out how to not give the ball to the other team. Bradleys play was so bad that Klinsmann even mentioned him by name in his postgame press conference (along with Jermaine Jones who understandably struggled having not played a full 90 minutes with regularity since the Copa America this summer). Jozy Altidore as also poor despite that American soccer media proclaiming him back (for the 100th time) as he failed to score or trouble the Mexican defense. If the US does not play much better against Costa Rica they could start the Hexagonal with two losses and really be behind the eight ball trying to qualify for Russia 2018. Costa Rica on the other hand got their qualification campaign off to a good start with a 2-0 away to Trinidad & Tobago. They currently sit atop the standings with 3 points and a 2 goal difference. Theyve also had a great run of form lately. Theyve won five games in a row including a win over Colombia at the Copa America in June. Costa Ricas last loss was actually against the US in the Copa America. But dont expect a repeat of that 4-0. The US has never won in Costa Rica (at the old Saprissa Stadium or the new national stadium) and the current squad is stacked with nine players playing for European clubs and another four playing in MLS. The ones to watch for are former Portland Timber Rodney Wallace captain Bryan Ruiz and former Arsenal man Joel Campbell. Notes: Fridays loss to Mexico was the first time the US has lost a home World Cup Qualifier since June 2001. All three home teams in CONCACAF qualifying lost on Friday night. This is the second straight Hexagonal that the US has lost their first game. Razer’s gaming Ultrabook gets an Intel Kaby Lake bump and a bigger battery Read more Technology News Here –> digitaltechnology… Although high-powered Intel 7th generation aren’t due until next year that isn’t stopping Razer for updating its gaming Ultrabook the Blade Stealth. Now equipped with a new 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor the new Razer Blade Stealth should be an even more capable machine for everyday life and gaming. Power aside the gaming Ultrabook has also been upgraded with double the memory bumping it up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Battery life has also seen an improvement thanks to a larger 53.6 watt-hour battery 15% percent larger than the 2015 model’s 45WHr cells which should afford users with nine hours of usage. Last but not least Razer is now offering the Blade Stealth in a new gunmetal color that also replaces the glowing logo on the back of the screen with a “tone-on-tone.” The new color and unlit logo may appeal to those who want all the power of this machine with stealthier aesthetic for work. The Razer Blade Stealth starts $999 (about 760 AU$1325) with a QHD (2560 x 1440 display) 7th gen Intel Core i7-7500U processor with Intel HD Graphics 620 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile models in gunmetal gray start at $1399 (about 1060 AU$1860) with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. New models begin shipping today and the gaming Ultrabook will also be available at retail stores like Amazon and the Microsoft Store later this month. Playing with more firepower Razer is also updating its bigger Razer Blade gaming laptop with Nvidia’s latest Pascal graphics. The 14-inch notebook is now armed with the new Nvidia GTX 1060. At first this might sound like step down from the Nvidia GTX 970 from last generation but the new graphics chip is actually three times faster while delivering 40% more performance. The new Razer Blade will stick with 6th generation Intel Core i7 processors until gaming-grade Kaby Lake processor are out. However you still get a boatload of power plus this rig is upgradable to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and an 1TB SDD. Razer is also bringing back the 1080p screen for gamers who want faster frame rates and a matte screen with minimal glare. The Razer Blade is available for pre-order starting at $1799 (about 1370 AU$2390) and units begin shipping later this October.
